Terilee Dawn

It is hard to think of a way to describe myself so that you can get to know me better. I love having a blog because it is a place for me to show my most current work and at the same time post random things about my life. I have a deep passion for life and it is my goal to live it to the fullest. That may sound kind of cliche but it is so true. I love adventures, and people, and photography is an avenue for me to experience both in a fun artist way. Photography is an outpour of what I see and how I view life. It allows me to capture those sweet moments in life in a way that when I look back at the images I can remember how it felt to experience that moment. That is why I love my job, I get to capture pure moments for people that they will always get to take with them. I hope you will stay a while and look through my blog and get inspired.

Cherry Blossoms

With mothers day coming up I thought it would be fitting to blog this beautiful mother daughter session. Its actually from a few years ago when I still lived in California. Please tell me there is a place like this in the Calgary area? I love spring. Enjoy!

Keeping it real. Parents sometimes get overwhelmed with how their kids behave during photo shoots. I always tell them not to worry. Kids will be kids and we always managed to get great shots even with these in between.

Cormac Newborn Session

This little man is very dear to my heart. He has been blessed with the most amazing parents. This was the first time I got to watch a close friend go through the adoption process. Anyone who is willing to adopt are heroes in my books. So many emotions. To make a long story short I just so happened to be visiting California when this little guy was born. What a privilege to get to go to the hospital and watch my friends become parents. It was so special that I was able to photograph those precious moments in the hospital as well as shoot his newborn session. I might of been teary eyed through most of it. Its moments like this I am reminded about why I love doing what I do. Moments happen so fast and to have images to be reminded of those amazing life moments is so important.

Real II

Real II

I cannot believe how long it has been since I posted. I have been working on this book, being mom, and moving from California to Canada. Lets just say I have been busy. I am proud to announce that we have completed a second volume of the book Real. Once again I have been forever changed by the people I have been so blessed to meet and hear their stories. I hope that you to will enjoy the photos and their stories. We are having a book release Party coming up this Nov 8th so please come say hello. I will be flying back to California just to be a part of it and I can’t wait.

Shaun & Stacey: Engaged

I had so much fun taking these pictures. These two people are very special to me. This is my little brother and his fiance. I first of all can’t believe that he is mature and old enough to get married. To me he will always be that obnoxious little brother. I must say though I loooooooooove Stacey and our whole family is so excited to have her as part of the family. She is an amazing person who tolerates my brother always bugging her. It is actually nice because now he bugs me less 🙂 We can’t wait for their wedding in Oct it is going to be a great celebration. Enjoy!

These guys were such troopers. I wanted them to have locations that they couldn’t get in Canada so I made them run around like crazy so we could get the beach, vineyards and oak trees. I think it was worth the chaos.

One last image because this is who my brother really is, a mature young man.

Stu & Leah : Married

I have known Leah for over 10 years. We were all so excited for her when she started talking about this guy Stuart that was interested in her….. then he asked her to marry him….and I got to take their wedding photos. Enjoy!

Alex & Janelle : Married

So there are way to many photos that I am posting but I just couldn’t help it. Janelle is my cousin so I think that I am a bit more attached to these photos then some. She also has been very patiently waiting for her photos so I thought I would let her see a bunch. You guys are awesome together and I had so much fun spending the day with you taking your pictures and celebrating. Enjoy!

First look!

Instead of doing unity candles or the sand they painted a picture together. I thought it was awesome and was a first for me.

My sister and her friend Andrea made the cake

My Dad

Working on my cousin Janelle’s wedding and just had to post this image.

Eliott Ryan

Wow having a one year old has killed my blogging and I love blogging. I had to get these photos up on the blog though. We waited a long time for this little man and he is very dear to our hearts. It is such a joy to get to see Ryan and Amber become parents. This little man is the most precious little thing. Enjoy!

This last one just makes me laugh so of course I had to post it. It wouldn’t be a new born post without a bit of a cry.

Maddy’s Seniors

I love doing senior portraits. It is just plain fun. Maddy was the sweetest girl and had great style. I wish you luck as you pursue your music career!
