Terilee Dawn

It is hard to think of a way to describe myself so that you can get to know me better. I love having a blog because it is a place for me to show my most current work and at the same time post random things about my life. I have a deep passion for life and it is my goal to live it to the fullest. That may sound kind of cliche but it is so true. I love adventures, and people, and photography is an avenue for me to experience both in a fun artist way. Photography is an outpour of what I see and how I view life. It allows me to capture those sweet moments in life in a way that when I look back at the images I can remember how it felt to experience that moment. That is why I love my job, I get to capture pure moments for people that they will always get to take with them. I hope you will stay a while and look through my blog and get inspired.

Paine Family – Mostly Annette

One thing I love about being a photographer is getting to take pictures of family. I value photos so much and it special when I can capture the lives of my family. Christine & Jason live all the way in Hong Kong so it was great getting to spend some time with them this summer and to meet Annette. She is so dang cute and I had a lot of fun taking pictures of her and holding her lots. Enjoy!

I am in love with these headbands that Annette got as a gift. I must learn how to make them so I can have them for future photos shoots.

We had to also get a few photos of Josiah. So cute!

Ryan & Megan – Married

Ryan and I had so much fun at this wedding. Ryan and Megan are a great couple that were so relaxed throughout their day that they kept it really fun. These two have been dating for 12 years! The speeches were awesome because there was so much history with these two that people had a lot say. I loved watching them together, they were so comfortable with each other and you could tell how in love they were. Ryan and Megan I hope you are having and awesome time in Europe right now. Enjoy!

Love this first photos when they first saw each other. We started the photos at the hotel and then headed to the beach.

After the ceremony we took some time to drive around the golf course to get a few more shots. Love the boat we found.

Any time these two were walking beside each other Ryan would have his hand placed on Megan’s back. I loved it, it was so protective and caring.

These two had the best cake cutting I have ever witness. I have never seen cake fly like the way we did this night.

Aaron & Rebecca – Married

These two tied the knot a few weekends back. It was a gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding that was held at the camp where her dad works. I love living in this area because there are so many beautiful places to get married. Aaron and Rebecca thanks for letting me capture this special day of yours. Enjoy!

Ryan & Megan – Sneak Peek

Can’t wait to do a full blog post on this wedding but here is a teaser.

Henderson Family

I realized that recently I have been posting all personal stuff on this blog and not any of the work I have been doing lately. Life is just a whirlwind sometimes. So now I am finally getting around to posting the work that I love to do. I meet up with the Henderson family a few weeks ago to take some family photos and had a great time. Their kids are absolutely adorable and the family was fun and relaxed making my job easy. Their 4 yr old son had loads of energy but kept things lively for us. Kids are such a great reminder of the simple things in life. I had a great time getting to know you guys and hope that you enjoy the photos. Enjoy!

This next series are my favorite. This kid was hilarious and was putting on a show for the camera. I love it because they just scream kid and who doesn’t want to be a kid again.

and then just like that he was able to put on the charm…

Check out his hang loose sign that no one prompted him to do. haha I didn’t notice it till I was looking through the photos and I love it.

Henderson Family – Sneak Peek

I am heading off on vacation for the next two weeks but couldn’t resist posting these two pictures. How cute are these kids!!!

Last Day of Work

Yesterday was officially my last day at the County Assessors office. WoooooooooooooHOoooooooooooooooo!!!!! I have worked there for the past three years while Ryan was finishing school. It was a great job for the time but I am excited that I am officially going to be doing photography full time, no more working late nights! I am excited to have a much more normal schedule now and the time to fully focus on my dream.

Father’s Day

Back when Mothers day rolled around I decided that my gift to my mom would be writing a blog post about her and the things that I love about her. And for Father’s day I feel like doing the same. My family has never been big on giving gifts on these days but as I grow older I want to make sure that I tell the people around me that are special and important to me just how special and important they are to me. Over the past couple of years I have  really learned to value and respect how amazing of a family that I was blessed to grow up in. Not everyone has what I have and I try not to take that for granted.

My dad and I have similar personality and when I was a teenager we tended to butt heads a lot. I am stubborn and he is stubborn. I got my strong personality from him :)   That being said he was a great dad. He is full of wisdom and great leadership. He treats my mom like gold and has always treated us kids with respect and encouragement. I think the biggest way I have seen this from my dad is through my business. He himself has also struggled through the process of having his own business and the ups and downs of it and has created a very successful business. It is awesome that I grew up seeing that and now have someone that I can ask advice from. He is a contractor I am a photographer but when it comes to business there are somethings that go for all businesses. He has encouraged me through this process of growing mine and listened to how I want to run it and given me  wise advice  from what he has learned over the years. I am so thankful dad that you understand this world with me and that I have someone older and wiser to ask advice from.

Dad you have supported and encouraged our family in so many ways throughout these years. Thank you for showing me what a Godly man should look like so that my standards were set high and in the right place. Thank you for bringing us up in the church and showing us how important your faith was for you and your family. Thank you for how you have support and encourage us kids to grow up and be who we wanted to be.

My parents were just down here for Ryan’s Grad and it was some sweet moments with family and friends. Thank you for supporting us in so many ways while Ryan has been in school and encouraging him in his new career. We couldn’t ask for more supportive parents.

Terilee’s Tuesday – Ryan’s Senior Project

Ryan is officially graduating this Saturday. It seems unreal that it is actually happening, but we are really excited. Last week the school had their big Architectural 5th year show. It was the display of their projects that they had been working on for the whole year. I am very proud of Ryan for working hard until the end and accomplishing/surviving Cal Polys intense Architecture program. He has worked so hard these past 5 years and has done really well all the way through. Here’s to the future!

Now I won’t try and describe his project for him because I will butcher it completely. The chances are from the pictures it won’t make a whole lot of sense but I guess you will just have to call Ryan and ask him about it.

These first pictures are of the grad invites we sent out. They were 5×5 trifolds. This is the outside.

The inside

The rest of the photos are from his 5th year show.

haha this last one is my favorite. Ryan and his best friend Aaron.

Ryan I am very proud of you and ready to celebrate!!!

Ava – Shell Beach Photography

This is my niece Ava Faye. I took these photos a few months back when my sister was down for a visit. Ava is 5 months here but is now 8 months already. Isn’t she just sooooo adorable? Enjoy!

So Ava was teething big time while my sister was visiting. This girl had her whole fist in her mouth the whole time which was a pretty funny site. haha.
